The Zell am See - Kaprun ski area lies between Lake Zeller am See at the foot of the Schmittenhöhe mountain and the town of Kaprun below the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. The ski resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun are interconnected, and the towns are 7 km apart. The Kitzsteinhorn, Schmittenhöhe and Maiskogel peaks also fall under the ski areas.

Attractions include the panoramic Grossglockner Strasse, which every serpentine lover will appreciate.

Lake Zeller See with drinking water is an ideal place for swimming for the whole family. It offers children's playgrounds, cruises and windsurfing. The water temperature here is around 24 °C in summer.
